A very basic question. I realise I never use the pencil I always use the brush. Is there more to a pencil than just being a hard brush? Am I missing something by never using it? Just curious

Aside from having the Auto Erase option, I hardly ever use it. I think I recall seeing a need for it once for creating scratches on a picture, to get it to look old. That's about it.

Thanks Ray. I wondered if I was missing something useful. Have to admit that auto erase is another tool I never use - tried it and it didn't seem to do anything very useful. I have the same issue with the magic and background erasers - maybe I just haven't figured out how to work them properly.

I've never used the pencil tool either. Never even think about it. Sounds like it's time for Dave and Matt to find a tutorial for us on the usefulness of the pencil tool :D

Hi Pauline, I just uploaded my Christmas card that I used the pencil, but I don't know where the picture went :( . I'm totally helpless when it comes to this, but I'm enjoying seeing everyone's work. Maybe my picture will show up somewhere?

Hi there ...

I don't use the pencil tool very often ... but if I need a neat thin line then I use it :)
