Group,
I downloaded Raw 5.2 and installed it per the README. Prior to this, PSE 7 wouldn't even open .CR2 files from the 50D no matter how they were transferred.
It will now open them successfully. However, I must transfer them via PSE 7 from a card reader.
If I attempt to transfer from the 50D via USB, PSE 7 sees the 50D, knows how many files there are, and even displays thumbnails of the first five or six (in this case, there are 28 files) and displays hourglasses for the remainder. When I hit the transfer button, the "copying" panel displays, but nothing happens and it sits there for several minutes before timing out and displaying this error message - "Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 cannot obtain files from this device. Please ensure that the device is connected properly, or that the battery is charged, and try again".
Of course, the device is connected properly or it wouldn't have seen it in the first place and, yes, the battery is charged. The LCD on top of the 50D is flashing "busy", but then it would be if it were connected, right?
While it is not crucial that I transfer files directly from the 50D (it is easier to use the card reader), I don't like to leave issues unresolved.
Thanks for your assistance.
