I found this on another website and it is also on Facebook. I thought it would be fun to try here as a challenge.

To Do This:

1 - Go to "wikipedia." Hit “random” or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to "Random quotations" or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to flickr and click on http://www.flickr.com/creativecommons/by-nc-2.0/. Choose your photo from the many photos here for your album cover and please give credit to who the photo belongs to.

4 - Use photoshop/elements to put it all together.

5. Post your "album cover" here

I don't want to be a killjoy on this - because I think it's a really fun project - but make sure that you can actually use the photo grabbed in Step 3 - the photo author should at least make it available to be "remixed" and used "for non commercial purposes" under a Creative Commons license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.0/deed.en).

If it says "All rights reserved," spin the wheel on Step 3 again - there are lots of photos on flickr that are posted for free use. (See here (http://www.flickr.com/creativecommons/) for tons of them.)

I'm kind of amazed that Facebook hasn't added something along these lines in the notes - most of us wouldn't be too happy if people took our images without asking.

Good advise I hadn't thought about. I will go back to my original post and change the last link to "Creative Commons". Those photos have who the photo was posted by. I'll just change how the photo is picked.

The album picture is by Freefotouk. I used pixel trash to jazz it up.
The album singer is Frank DeCicco - a NY mobster connected with the Gambino family. (I wonder if he ever really sang?)
The album title is a quote from Yogi Berra - "The future ain't what it used to be".

Good job Pat. I can see an album that might look like that in a music store! :)
