I do a lot of isolated photos...that is, I make a lot of isolated photos. Even though they're photographed on white or black backgrounds it takes considerable time to clean up shadows, etc. so I can put a clean white or black second layer under them. There must be an easier way. I've heard talk of light boxes or something similar. Is there a simple setup I can make with good, no-shadow lighting that gives a good solid, clean background? Even the mat board and cloth backgrounds that I use show up in too much focus. Any responses are greatly appreciated.

I bookmarked a site (on the home machine) with some ideas...I made one using PVC pipe for a box frame and poster board for a background. A pillow case over the top and sides with some stand lights angled works well for me. Best of all, cheap and easy to move and disassemble.

If you do a web search for "Lightboxes Photographic" you will get several hits for home made lightboxes
