I saw a piece on Nightline last night and was wondering who Twitter's. If you do can you share something about Tweeting.

Hi Mary Lou,
I don't. But here's some info:

David Pogue has a couple of interesting articles on this subject in the NYT:

I have not twittered. Yet.
I have a MySpace page, which I occasionally use and post my pics and use to communicate with friends.
But this past Sunday I started a Facebook page and I am addicted. I stay on for hours just seeing what people are to or stating what I am doing, "Johnny is watching .... on TV". I have gotten to be friends with so many npeople I have not seen since high school or college, and I was surprised to see many people I know that have Facebook page.
But I have heard of Twitter, and it sounds like the same as Facebooks status update feature. I like it. But as I said, it is addicting.

I use Twitter amongst a group of old professional friends spread across the country - I tell people it's a bit like the "coffee break around the water cooler" from when I was younger. There are little spurts of conversation, a bunch of inane conversations, and lots of help, when someone is running into a problem with something.
It's easy for it to take a lot of time, but I've come to a pretty decent understanding with it - I don't tweet if I'm super busy, although I do watch what other people are saying.
And, I protect my updates, which means I have to "let you in" for you to follow what I say. I really don't want all of my inane chatter getting out on the Internet for all to marvel at. ;)

Thanks. I was wondering just how popular it is. Looked like it ws used a lot. I've heard of it before but nobody I know uses it. I can't imagine adding anything else that is time consuming to my life now!!

Amen....and I love technology. Apparently many congress and senate members were tweeting during Obama's speech the other night, giving new fodder to the late-night pundits...
