Everyone is always talking about backing up files etc. I took Corey's Creative Technique class and copied it to cds and removed them from my computer before I knew all the dicussion about not doing it.
Well I was looking for a cd and had all of Corey's in my hand dropped them...played pickup but in the process of getting up off ( I don't know why that seems to be getting harder and harder) the floor I stepped on the cd with lesson 12-16:eek::mad: and immediately I felt this sickening feeling in my stomach.
I think I now know were bigfoot resides:(
Anyone know where to find bigfoot prove cds?

I'm sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident, Vesta ...
But I feel compelled to speak about something that I have written about before, for the benefit of those reading.
A backup is not making a copy somewhere else and then deleting the original. This is not a backup, as Vesta's unfortunate incident illustrates.
A backup is when you have two copies of a file, and they are on different physical media. If you have two copies of a file on the same disk, you have a duplicate, not a backup, and if that disk fails, you now have zero copies. If you have two copies and they are on different disks, and one of those disks fails, you still have a copy of your file — you have a backup!
This applies to not only your photos, but all of your important files. Do not take the risk of losing your files by not having a proper backup. Get in the habit of doing regular backups of your files.

Thanks paige
I wholehardidly agree with you but that was in the very early days( 2001) when I didn't have an EHD , no computer experience and had a small 40gb computer, copied what I needed to cd and removed the files from my computerbecause it became so slow....EHds were very expensive then. How things change...I have a new computer (equipped for video editing and a 2 1/2 year old laptop plus 2 EHds. I can now do more than turn it on.

Vesta, I hope you can find someone who can help you create a duplicate of the lost data. I probably would have cried!!

I would like to have them but don't think I would take the class again (even though it was awesome) assuming I could even find it. I couldn't find them on the Pet site.

I would love to have the ones I lost and looked on the Pet site and the classes are not there anymore, at least, I couldn't find them. I am not sure if I would take the class again because of the cost but it sure was an awesome class.
