I just got a pop-up to install an addition or upgrade to my PSE 7. Does anyone know what's in it or if it's even valid?

The only thing I've been able to discover about it is what the updater says:
Backup and Synchronization Update: Required for the reliable backup and synchronization of files with photoshop.com
The update isn't even listed on the Updates section of Adobe.com, where all program updates are supposed to be listed.
The update doesn't fix the three bugs that stop me from using the service: mangling of dates/times with unknown fields; losing dates/times of photos that appear in more than one album; failure to sync changes in album ordering.

An Adobe employee just posted the reason for the update:

I just followed your link and I have no idea what they're talking about other than it has caused a few problems for some people.

Well, to summarize, the update is to the synchronization feature of PSE, and an Adobe employee says that the update removed the 200 MB file-size limit on what could be synced. Just one person has reported display-resolution problems occurring about the same time as the update, but not one else has reported problems. That person hasn’t followed through on the suggested troubleshooting. So it’s likely the problems were unrelated.
