I seem to have a problem trying to print A4 (I live in the UK) in either Elements 6 or 7, though the problem doesn't occur when printing from CS2. When changing the paper size to A4 it will not "stick" in the Page Setup box and keeps reverting to US letter size, despite the printer preferences, the Print Preview and Windows XP all being set to use A4 size paper. The printer is an HP 6980. Anyone have any ideas please? It's driving me nuts!
The best Adobe could suggest was to reinstall the software (made no difference) and check that I'd got the lastest printer driver (which I have).

Mike, I have found a number of problems with PSE6's printer functions. I found that "non-standard" print size are particularly problematic.
I find that some of my problems of settings not sticking can be avoided if I make sure I make my printer set-up settings in the File>Page Setup... dialog first, the set them all again, after launching the File>Print module and choose the Page set-up or Printer setup functions again.

Hi Mike ...
... and welcome to the Village :)
Do let us know if that sorts it out for you ... I use PSE6 on a Mac I haven't had any problems with it sticking to A4.

If you haven't already, click Start>Printers & Faxes, and right-click the printer's icon. From the pop out menu, click Printing Preferences, and set the defaults you want.
Those should stick if you create them from here, rather than when you have the print dialog open from an application. This creates an "all-the-time" preference, but if you do a setup from the print dialog, it creates a "this time" preference.

Thanks for the advice, Guys. I've been following the suggestions and they do seem to help. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed now that the problem is solved.
