View Full Version : can't do anything the stupid hand

I know that this one will be when I am editing the hand is always up no matter what I click on can some one tell me how to get rid of that stupid thing. I've closed and reopened the program but the hand is there and I can't do any editing. Doesn't matter what button I push it is still in the screen for my cursor.

Sorry to hear you're having a problem. You didn't mention which verson of PS you're using. Have you tried re-setting the tool?
In PSE-7, it's in the far, upper left-hand corner of your screen. A tiny down arrow. Click on it and select reset tool.

Have you got something resting on the spacebar or jamming it so it is slightly pressed down? Holding down the spacebar changes any tool into the hand tool.

sometimes this happens to me too. If i tap the specebar a few times it goes back to normal, it must get hung up a little.

Hi,

This is happening due to the spacebar getting stuck or being pressed. Check for the space bar when you face the hand tool when it is not selected.

I have vista on a pc and when this happened to me it was because I had something called the panning hand selected. It was on my tool bar and when I deselected it everything went back to normal again. It made me nuts until I figured it out. Just something else to look at.

Just a curiosity question... is the panning hand a tool in vista?

No, it has nothing to do with PSE. It is an IE thing. Off the top of my head, I think it comes as part of IE7 Pro.

Thank you Bayla. I was not even aware that IE had a Pro version. I have IE8 but mostly use Firefox anymore.
