I took a picture of my grandkids in front of the fireplace and the flash rebounded off the glass fireplace screen. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to darken it. I used the pen marker, i think, with a #5 width. But could not get it to blacken the spot.
Thanks for any basic help.

Make a selection of your 'bounced flash' then feather it and use Levels to see if that will temper the beast to a useful level.

Welcome to the forum. I've had that happen a few times recently and usually found that you get the best result by using the cloning tool to cover up the flash reflection with a bit of "good" glass. Doesn't always work if there are other reflections in the glass and I've also used the smudge tool to fuzz it up a bit so it doesn't look too obvious a fix. The smudge tool is one of my favourites for tidying up fixed pictures. :)

I second Tony's suggestion, I get the best result with cloning.

Hello Dick

There are many ways to solve your problem although the results will vary greatly from picture to picture. Maybe you could post the picture here and we could give you some better advice.

Hi Dick - if you go to File | Save for the web and make the longest side 700 and the quality medium and give it a new name you will be able to upload it to Pixentral and then post the URL from there into a message here and we will be able to see it.:)

Let us know if that will work for you.
