Hi, all. I'm thinking about buying an XM radio and signing up for the service. Has anyone here got that, and do you enjoy it? I'm just a bit worried about it because I heard that XM/Sirius might be in financial trouble, and I don't want to sign up for something just to see it go away and leave me with useless equipment. Any feedback on XM would be greatly appreciated...

I have an XM/Sirius radio subscription. I do not have a separate radio, but it is installed in my car as part of the Navigation system. I really do enjoy it, especially around X-Mas time where they have channels dedicated specifically for only X-Mas songs. I also enjoy the comedy channels and news channels. I also enjoy their internet service, because I can listen to XM/Sirius from my computer or any other computer I want.
As far as them being in finacial trouble, I have heard the same thing. Exactly what kind, I am not sure.

I've been a Sirius subcribers for a few years now, best thing since sliced bread. Because at the the end of the day things really do go better with Classic Rock...commercial free that is. Are they in trouble...thats what I've heard, but then again the whole country is.

My contractor has it and loves it. He has the portable unit that he can plug into a set of speakers he leaves here while he's working, or I assume it goes into his car or home unit as well. I did hear recently that they don't expect the service to go away though it may become more expensive. I think there is someone interested in taking a controling interest and some resistance on the part of the current owners. I don't drive enough to make it worthwhile so I've never looked into it for myself but I would if I commuted, or was a long distance truck driver.

We've got XM at home and Sirius on the boat and love it. We got tired of all the wires so I even redid the boat system with a Sirius-ready unit. Because we have 6 months of winter, we just get a semi-annual subscription for the boat. The great thing is you get to hear a broad range of tunes and you can get turned on to someone you've never heard before.

I just got a new car and it is "free" for 6 months. Of course they do that so that you will renew at the end of the "free" period. I would never (ha ha) fall for anything like that except I really like it and will renew!!;)

I have Sirius. I travel a lot and wouldn't be without it. Also have a boom box that I can put it in at home. I have no idea what is coming down the pike regards their financial problems, but sure do hope they are here to stay. As mentioned above, it may mean higher subscription fees.

Well, my father in law bought a car recently that had XM radio. He liked it so much that he subscribed for y months to continue with it. Well, he has now been dealing for a couple of months with them, because they say he never paid. His bank is helping him and they have evidence that he paid, which the bank forwarded a copy to XM. Well they keep telling him that they ddidn't get the check and refuse to refund him. Also thXM went bankrupt, but somebody gave them money or bought it and that is why they are still around. By the way, if you do a search for XM radio complaints, it is a long list.

I so far have not had any complaints for my XM radio. I ejoy listening to it in my car on my commute to work and on my laptop from the internet. The only annoyance is the payment. I am sure that the complaints (which I have not seen) are valid, but like any other thing, you will find a list of complaints (like PSE6 or PSE7 problems) rather than a list of what I like about XM Radio, PSE6, PSE7, etc....
Also, I did hear about them filing for bankruptcy, but like and filing, it is not saying that they are going out of business, but that they are having financial problem and need a period of restructuring.
