How do I transfer several hundred tagged images from Photosho Elements 4 to Photoshop Elements 6 ?

First time on any forum and hopefully am responding in a proper fashion.
Thanks much for the very comprehensive reply. It will take some time to figure it all out , however a quick read of the material seems like it's doable.
