When you save a file under, "Save As" it always has a check mark in the, "Include In The Organizer" box. This is very frustrating.:(:( Is there any way to make it permanently, "unchecked" unless I tell it otherwise?
I find that when I let it include it in the Organizer that I have to go hunt for it if I want to tag it as it isn't telling me there is a new file.

Well I can't find any where in preferences to set that so it must be a default setting that was established based on the organizer being the 'choice' for managing pictures.

That was one of the reasons I disabled Organizer in PSE 3. :(

Do you know if they "fixed" it in PSE4?

PE4 still tries to force you to use the Organizer. I don't use it for my browser but I occasionally go into the Organizer, select all the thumbnails and delete them (just the Organizer's thumbnails, not the pics themselves).

I quite agree, isn't it frustrating when programs 'try' to take control of your computer. I'm still evaluating PSE4, and this annoys me. What I do, is on the desk top I have shortcuts to my card driver, so I click on the icon to open the drive and download to 'My pictures'. Does that make sense? It's easier to show than explain' Steve

I could almost live with this if when you turned on/switched to Organizer it said, "Hey look, these are those pictures you saved here. What would you like to do with them?".
I don't know if anyone else has this problem but if I don't write down the name of the "new" file so I can go hunt it down and tag it or do something with it then it just floats out there all alone.:(

Hi Michael,
I'm not sure if this will help but I always "stack" series of photos in the organizer. When I want to work on them, I right click, select stack, and then select "reveal photos in stack." The stack is opened in a new window. As I edit and save, the new file I create appears as the first photo in the stack. The most recent files are always at the top of the stack in the upper left hand corner of the window.

I think that it often helps to give each photo at least one tag right after you do the Get Photos to import them. The first screen you see after the import of the photos does show only the newly imported items, so that is a good time to do at least initial tag assignment. If they will all have the same tag (like some event), all you need to do is a Select All and drag the tag to one photo.
Also if you look at the FIND menu, there is a choice to find only the "Untagged Items" as a way to go back and find what you missed.
