Frames in Elements 6

How the heck do you "drag and drop" your photo into the frame that you've selected? If I have my photo open and then select a frame and click apply, the frame takes over the work area and you can no longer see or get to your photo to "drag and drop" it into the frame selected. If you minimize your photo and then click on the frame you want and click apply, it doesn't open (I guess because there's no photo open in the work area; remember I minimized the photo). So how do I do this?

And if I do get the photo into the frame and the photo is too big or too small, are there "handles" to resize the photo to fit the frame?

I must be misunderstanding you here, are you referring to the "photo effects frame" which is essentially an action?

What I'm talking about is in the Editor - Create - Artwork - By Type - Frames. Hope this helps clear up the misunderstanding.

Whenever I do this a slider shows up at the top left of the frame allowing me to resize the photo.

Bernie, first, the following applies to PSE6 (Windows ver.). If you are starting with an open image, simply click "Apply" and the frame you have selected is created and your image is inside, the slider changes the image's dimensions, click and drag moves the image inside the frame.

If you are starting from a blank new document and you hit apply you get an empty frame. Right click and select Replace Photo, and select a new image. That is also the way you change images int he first example above.

Once you have your frame layer created as above, you can also drag a new open image up from the Photo Bin and drop it into the frame, replacing the image.

Bernie I'm running PSE5 but think I know what you're talking about. What I do is once the frame is placed and covers your photo, is select the picture on LAYERS pallet and drag and drop onto the frame. PSE then corrects the order and you can adjust sizes.
