Tony, I like the effect you came up with on your images. I messed around for awhile and really didn't come close to that effect.I'll have to spend more time because I really like that look.

Nice job everyone so far. Keep up the good work. This does work best on images with lots of color and few blown out white areas so try boosting the satration on the image to start with.
One thing I have found is that you can add a layer adjustment above the second layer from the top (Background/Hard Light), group it to that layer and move the input and output white sliders way across to the left. That brings back a lot of color to the white areas.

Congrats to all who worked there way through all 10 pages of the tutorial and you all did great. Took me a while to get to the comments but here they are:
BJ: Nicely tweaked and nicely framed. He has his eyes and ears on you waiting for the shutter to click.
Tammy: Great orchid sketch and another nice frame. This tut does have a problem with white areas getting blown out but you did manage to bring back a lot of them.
Tony: Interesting effect you produced. We could call it the grungy finger effect. Well done.
Pat: Yes it does tend to lose detail on the white areas dpending on the layer opacities but it still makes a good sketch effect on your image.
Val: Yes - you made it! Does a great job on the stones. What was that building originally?
Sepiana: That's a really good one. You managed to keep just the right amount of color and retain the sketch effect.
Ms Katy: Good job on the statue and good to see you had fun doing it too!
Martha: It is tricky to get colour back and retain the sketch effect. The apples look a tad anaemic but the lace and background came out great. Nicely framed too.
Bill: You can take all the liberties you like around here! Not sure what you did but whatever it was it worked fine!
Pete: Good one and you managed to keep just the right amount of colour too. And that red wheelbarrow is right on the 1/3 lines - the eye goes right to it. Great composition.
Suzanne: I got mixed up with the layers when I first tried it so glad my posting them helped. It is tricky to get them right first time but they worked well on your sketch.
Sharon: That's really different from the others. Whatever you tweaked really made for a nice effect. What was your secret?
Clara: Glad you enjoyed playing with the tut. I does make for a nice effect with old buildings. Nicely done.
Martha: Beautifully done and animated. My vote is for the sepia version.
Toni: I agree. A good one for sepia. You sure made the wheelbarrow look grungy. Wonder how the kid stayed so clean with all that grunge around!
Bayla: Wow. Trying lots of different images really payed off. Those leaves work perfectly as does the frame/clipping mask. We'll test you in a week or so to see if you can still recite the tut steps from memory!
Mary Lou: Those extra filters worked well to bring out the contrast and color. Thanks for sharing your tweaking trick.
Eleanor: That's awesome. I don't know what you tweaked to get that effect but whatever it was it looks perfect.
Shirl: Another good one and you managed to keep the color too. That reminded me of some old hand drawn picture postcards I was looking at the other day.
Dspec01: I wondered how this would work on dogs and was going to try one myself but didn't get to it. It looks like it works rather nicely. Thanks for experimenting.
Joe: Another good one. Quick and easy? You must be a speed reader with a good memory!
Thanks again to everyone who joined in the fun.
