Hi, I was wondering if anyone here might know whether or not you can tape something off a saved DVR program. I'm getting rid of cable next month, and I have a couple of shows saved on my DVR that I'd like to transfer to tape if I could. Is that possible? Thanks!

It should not be a problem... I expect your DVR has the typical trio of RCA connectors which you can connect to the corresponding input on your VCR.
I used to tape things off my TiVo this way.

Cool. The thing is, my TV has a built-in DVD/VCR player. So I wonder...do I run the program I have saved on my DVR, and turn on the VCR while the program is running, in order to tape it?

Sounds reasonable - as long as you can set the VCR to record from the inputs to which the DVR is connected. Experiment!

Just to let good buddy Byron (and anyone else who might be interested) know: I tried taping off my DVR and it worked. I just put the tape in the built-in VCR on my TV, starting playing a selected program on my DVR, and hit RECORD on my VCR. And the program was recorded! YAYYYY!!! I'm getting rid of my cable because of cost and lousy customer service and equipment (three DVR boxes so far and constant digitizing problems AAUUUGHH!!!!), so it's nice to know that I can record fave shows and enjoy them while saving 70 bucks a month. Now I just need to find a cheaper apartment...
