pixelated & confused

maid a slide show -elements7 -windows vista- pictures are a bit pixelated
i am stumped but hope some one in this amazing village can help me

Pixelation generally happens when you are trying to view a picture at greater than 100% of the resolution of that file. This is simple enough within PSE or CS to observe, by simply expanding it to greater than 100% (how much greater depends on the picture and its current resolution). Blowing it up during editing to allow you to work on fine detail easily is a good practice. But some programs will try sizing photos to the same dimensions without taking into account the photo's starting point. For example, a photo that at 100% is 3" by 6" at 72 ppi and blown up to 9" by 18" (resulting in 24 ppi) without resampling is going to have an adverse effect on photo quality.
