I bought a new camera ...a Nikon d90 but now I cant open RAW files.. I have asked both Nikon and Adobe for help and we shall see what they say but frankly I think i will get better results if i ask in here..

My D40x worked fine but apparently Nikon has changed its format to force people into buying their software. Anyone know about any patches or whatever.. I have spend hours on their site to no avail..

Meanwhile I watched the tutorial about upgrading RAW to 5.3 and that worked in the past but now for some reason I cant upgrade.. I have wasted most of the day with them too in a futile exercise in wasted time..

Someone here must have had the same problem and hopefully can help

Thanks

RIM: Which version of Elements are you using? You need the ACR update version 5.1, which works with Elements 6 or 7, but not earlier versions.

Here's the download site for 5.1:

ACR 5.1 (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4060)

I don't believe that ACR 5.3 has been released for PSE yet. 5.3 exists for Photoshop CS4 users at this time.

You want ACR 5.1 or ACR 5.2, and PSE6 or later; installed properly, it will open your Nikon D90 photos.

(By the way, the Nikon software that comes with the D90 should open the files...)

Now I will want an update in about a month on how you like the D90!
