Is there a way to "soft proof" with Elements 6?

Thanks.

Not directly but you can get an add-on that will let you soft-proof (and there are a lot of other useful actions in the package).

Thanks Tony. I was able to download the demo and read about the package. It looks like just what I need plus many more interesting actions.

I have been playing with the demo of the elements + package that was recommended and it works. I will order the full package -- it's extremely reasonable. The site recommends that you try the demo to make sure it works. They also have an animated tutorial that I'll get also. I tried the demo of that and although the quality was mediocre, it's a nice way to remind me of things I knew once but have forgotten.

Thanks again for the good advice. I love this forum.

Yes, this does sound interesting. By "quality was mediocre," were you referring to the software plug-in, end result of image, tutorial or all of the above? Have you had a chance to use it much? Thanks.

Hello,

I'm sorry I never answered your question. I guess I found the demo audio somewhat stilted but I absolutely love the Elements + plugins. I've been reading the book Fine Art Printing for Photographers by Uwe Steinmueller and Juergen Gulbins. It tells so many tricks for Photoshop but I'm finding with the Elements + plugins that I can do some of the same things with Elements.

I really thank you for giving me this information.

I have started doing some giclees of my pastels. I'm using the soft proof plugin and it works! I'm still struggling to get some of the giclees to look like the originals. My next step is to use some of the masking techniques to isolate areas that need extra color or lightening.
