I have the PSE 6.0 for 1 year now.
This is the 1st time I am encountering this problem.
After I created a slide show and when trying to preview, it crashes in the middle of the preview and Window Vista gives you the message: Adobe Photoshop Elements (Organizer) has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working.
I have chatted earlier with an Adobe tech person who thought uninstalling and re-installing would work.
It did not.
Any ideas?
I have a big file - like almost 15 minutes of clide show at 4 seconds/photo - is that part of the problem or there should be no issue with a large file.
I already downloaded the uopdates as well, but not solving the problem.
Please help.

First some details....

1. Are you working elusively with Photoshop Elements 6 and its Slideshow Editor to create your slideshow?

2. What is going into this slideshow? Photos (jpeg, raw, other)? If photos, what is the pixel dimensions of each. If you do not know, check it out in the Full Editor, Image Menu, Resize, Image Resize and its dialog. How many photos do you have in the slideshow? Any video included? If so, what format and length of each video clip? What is the total run time of the created total slideshow?

3. What do you intend to do with the finished slideshow? How are you going to output it, if so, how, and for what purpose?

4. Is your Vista computer optimized (defragmented, etc). How much installed/available RAM and free hard drive space do you have?

5. Have you ever used Photoshop Elements 6 for this type of project before (slideshows)? If yes, how does this slideshow differ from those that did succeed?

6. The following might be a consideration, but it seems to happen earlier in the sequence of events than you described:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=333027&sliceId=2

7. How were matters left with Adobe
a. you were to try the uninstall/re-install and get back to them
b. T/S had no other answers for you, therefore case closed

Let us start here and see where that leads us,

Thanks, ATR for the answers. I have been busy the entire week, and did not have the chance to answer.
I will answer your questions in CAPS below.

First some details....

1. Are you working elusively with Photoshop Elements 6 and its Slideshow Editor to create your slideshow?
YES

IT IS ALL PHOTOS - MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT YOU CAN NOT PUT VIDEOS. IS THAT TRUE? IF YOU CAN PUT VIDEO, WHICH FORMAT YOU CAN INCLUDE.
THE PHOTOS ARE PROBABLY BETWEEN 0.5 MP TO 4 MP
THERE ARE LIKELY AROUND 300 PHOTOS FOR AN 18 MINUTE SLIDE SHOW.

3. What do you intend to do with the finished slideshow? How are you going to output it, if so, how, and for what purpose?
I WOULD OUTPUT IN INTO A DVD - NO PROBLEM HERE TO THE OUTPUT - JUST ONLY DURING THE PREVIEW.
4. Is your Vista computer optimized (defragmented, etc). How much installed/available RAM and free hard drive space do you have?
I HAVE WINDOWS VISTA AND I HAVE A NEW COMPUTER WITH A LOT OF DVD RAM

5. Have you ever used Photoshop Elements 6 for this type of project before (slideshows)? If yes, how does this slideshow differ from those that did succeed?
I HAVE USED IT BEFORE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM, THE LONGEST SHOW I HAD WAS 7 MINUTES.

6. The following might be a consideration, but it seems to happen earlier in the sequence of events than you described:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...3027&sliceId=2 (http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=333027&sliceId=2)
I WILL TRY TO LOOK AT THIS.
7. How were matters left with Adobe
a. you were to try the uninstall/re-install and get back to them
THE FILES ARE STILL THERE AND AS WELL AS THE SLIDE SHOW.
IT STILLCRASHES WHEN I PREVIEW.
b. T/S had no other answers for you, therefore case closed
I HAD PROBLEMS GOING BACK WITH THE ADOBE TECH.
THERE IS NO FREE TROUBLE SHOOT WITH THEM SINCE PSE 6 IS NOT CURRENT PRODUCT (NOW WITH THE PSE 7).

Let us start here and see where that leads us,
THANKS, ATR,
JUN
