Does anyone know of a hand held scanner that you can drag across a page and load the information into your computer? A friend of mine is looking so she can scan some older photo books that are about 18 inches wide. She doesn't want to take the books apart and doesn't think a flatbed scanner will work.
I would appreciate any input that I could pass along.

Hi, Johnny. Does your friend have a few $$ to spend?
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw_0_8?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=pen+scanner&sprefix=pen+scan
Lots to choose from, but I didn't see anything under $100

Val,
I don't think she wants to spend a lot of money on a hand held device. I really think she wants to be able to slide in down a page and produce the photographs that are in the family history archives.
Thanks for your input.

I wonder if a local library or community college might have such a device that a patron could use, on site?
