I am very new to Elements, right now I am fumbling thru and trying to learn. I am having problem with text, when I enter it on a layer it is very small set on 6 it doesn't even show up the setting way up to 72 and it is just readable. I think a setting may be off or am I just missing somthing. THANKS for any help.

What is the resolution on your image? It sounds like it is low. Type sizes are given in pts. A 72 pt type is about 1 inch high. If your resolution is 1 pixel per inch then 72pt type is only 1 pixel high. At 10 pixels per inch the type would be 10 pixels high.
Once in a while resolution do show up at strangely small amounts. I am not sure why. I usually set my print size and resolution before I add text.

2bebuster, how big is your document/image that you are working on?
Try this test.
Open a new document File>New>Blank File...
In the dialog box under Preset select US Paper and the size is Letter, and make sure you see 8.5 X 11 @ 300 PPI Resolution.
Now select the text tool and make sure Font is Arial, the size is something like 12 pt. and the color is Black.
Now start typing. It should be normal size font, like a word processor. Does it look proportional to the size of the page?

Hi ..
You can change the size to larger than 72 by changing the number in the box ... :)
So try that too ...
