what would be the best way to remove the heads at the bottom of this pic? when i clone or draw a box to copy over it, the shades are often different. THX

Hi lpete,

In this particular case, it should be easy. Get the rectangular marqueee, drag out a large rectangle above the left head. Press Ctrl-J to copy that selection to its own layer. Get the Move tool and move it down to cover the head. Get the Clone tool and touch up the edges.

Try the same process to cover the right head. You may need to make two "cover up" copies.

If the shades are a little different, with the copied layer active, press Ctrl-L for a levels adjustment and move the middle slider right or left a little.

or you might consider simply cropping the picture.

You can either crop the picture or select the area above the head, copy and File-> new->Image from clipboard to chop off the extra heads.

I second that!! Very nicely done. I had to study the full-size image very closely and refer back and forth with the original to see where it was edited. Anyone who didn't know would never suspect.
