Hey Y'all,

When I go to open my picture files, some of the pictures that I saved are not in a file or thumbnail, but an icon that looks like a torn page. That can't be good. What did i do wrong?
Question # 2: there are so many options to use to save a photo. I only recognize 2 or 3 of them: pdf, gif, jpeg. I usually use jpeg. I don't know if this is best or not.

Charlotte:confused:

What version of PSE? The usual cause is that the thumbnail cache has been corrupted and PSE needs to regenerate the thumbnails. See http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshopelements-6-7-faq.htm#_Recreate_Organizer_thumbnails

There is no "best". There are only options that make sense if you have certain needs and don't make sense if you don't have those needs. However, there is a "worst", I wouldn't recommend saving photos as .gif.

Saving as .jpg is fine if you want a smaller file than .psd, and if you are not using layers in your editing, or if you are using layers but don't plan to edit further. If you are using layers, and you think you mightht someday want to make additional edits to this photo, then .psd is the choice, although it results in a much larger file than a .jpg
