I am working on the layers chapter in "The Missing Manual" Photoshop Elements 7 book.
I followed the directions and went to www.missingmanuals.com (http://www.missingmanuals.com) and downloaded the Table Tutorial folder. It tells me to download 3 images. How the heck do you do that? I've tried everything I know and now and my mind is blank. So here I am!!
Thank you for any advice.

Hi Ralph, welcome aboard!
Here's the link (http://missingmanuals.com/cds/photoshope7tmm/) you need. You can download all sample images in a zip file or download individual images.

Hi Sepiana
I have been thru that but there doesn't seem to be a way to download those files.
As far as I know, you cannot "download" something unless it is designed to do so.
Right?
Give it a try yourself and then let me know.

By the way.. we really appreciate the time you spend helping people on here. Your name comes up often.
Thanks again

Lucky, when you visit the site, the links to download the zip file is in blue. When you click it, you should get a download dialog to Open or Save. Hit save and it will be downloaded to your computer.

Hi Ralph,
I've just tried and it works. Let's see if I can explain it.
The links you need are in this paragraph:
"Download all images in a zip file (http://examples.oreilly.com/9780596521332/photoshope7tmm_graphics.zip) (2.12MB) or download individual images here (http://examples.oreilly.com/9780596521332/images/)."
1. To download all images at once, click on zip file and save it to your computer; unzip it, and you'll see a folder inside called "Images." All the images are there.
2. If you want to download individual images, click on "here." You get a list of the images. Click on the image title and the image will open in another window. Then right-click and save it.
And thanks for the nice comments! You're too kind. I've been helped immensely by other forum members, so I'm eager to do my part.
EDIT: Oops! Got your name wrong. Just corrected it. Sorry!

Thanks guys,
However, when I click on the link I never get a dropdown box allowing me to download. The items I'm looking for are not in the main list of pictures. ( Which I have downloaded). What I'm looking for is the plate , table and silverware that is discussed in the "Basic Layers-Table Tutorial".
I'm sure I'm making a stupid mistake but I don't know what it is.
If you want to bother, open the Basic Layers-Table Tutorial and read the first paragraph.
Ralph M :(
I apologize for not being more explicit before but I HATE to bother anyone with a long boring story and I tried to minimize it . Not a good idea!!-

I downloaded one of the files linked above, and found photos of a bunch of things - but no plate table silverware
Found the missing tableware
http://examples.oreilly.com/9780596521332/table_tutorial_figures/
When I clicked on each item - it went to the png of the item. I right clicked on the picture and chose "save as"
To keep the background transparent, make sure you choose png as the format.
However, when I opened them in PSE, they were really small, so I don't know if I did it right.

Hi Ralph,
If you click on Table Tutorial Figures (http://examples.oreilly.com/9780596521332/table_tutorial_figures/), you'll find the table, plate, and silverware images you're looking for.

Hi Janice,
Oops! I didn't realize you had already posted the right link. Anyway, you did everything right. Those images are small indeed.

OK guys.
I had found the pictures but I was looking for a dropdown box that said "download" and didn't try "save as" because that means something else to me. (Thats what you do when someone is drowning)
Well heck, I gave you guys something to do, someone to talk about, and a little finger exercise.
I really appreciate your help and if I can ever advise you about flying a plane, whittling a stick or playing the saxophone, give me a buzz.
Thank you
