I have LR 2.2 and Elements 7 installed on Vista.
Following the instruction on the Adobe download page, I downloaded and unzipped the CameraRaw_5.2.zip.
When I execute cameraprofiles.exe it gets an error immediately after starting the setup. It says, Error Opening File for writing for C:\Program Data\Adobe\Camera Raw\Camera Profile\Adobe Standard\Canon...dcp (where the dcp file is the name of a camera). I am executing under an administrative account.
I have successfully moved the cameraraw.8bi to the appropriate plug-in folders for Elements 7 and Premiere 7 and it works as advertised.
Why the error? Will it cause me any unexpected problems?
