Ok, it was working just a bit ago. Now I'm working in a different document and I can't change the tolerance of my magic wand. It's not highlighted so I can change it now.
What is going on?
Thanks!

Christy,
After you select the magic Wand tool it will open the magic wand tool icon up at the top and to the right of tool bar, right click and choose reset magic wand or reset all tools. If this doesn't fix the problem try choosing another tool and then going back to the magic want tool.

It went back to the default but it still won't allow me to make any changes to it.
Weird. . .
btw I'm in PSE 7

It's still not working. I've tried everything I can think of. I've reset the tools. I closed it down and opened back up.
If I don't have a document open it will allow me to highlight the tolerance number. But as soon as I have anything open it won't.
This is driving me nuts!
Thanks for any help!

Hi Christy
Try deleting the prefs file ...
To do that close down Elements then click on the Editor start up icon and quickly hold down the Control, Alt and Shift keys (Mac users: Command, Option and Shift). Continue to hold down all three keys until you get a screen asking if you want to delete Settings ... just say Yes. You do have to be quick holding down the keys so if you have problems with it try holding down the keys with one hand before you click on the icon :)

You are my hero Wendy! Thank you so much!
Why does that happen?
I'm really glad I found this site. I've been teaching myself PSE7 since about November and there's a ton of good info on here!
Thanks again!

Hi Christy ..
So glad that it worked ... Elements and Photoshop are very prone to the prefs becoming corrupt so keeping a not of how to delete them is very useful.
It can happen when Elements is working on rendering something and you start clicking around ... its something that we all do :)
