Editor crashes in Elements 7

Downloaded Photoshop Elements 7 and Premiere Elements 7 on a new Dell XPS with i7 cpu, 6 gigs Ram and Windows Vista 64bit OS. Organizer seems to run OK, but Editor crashes every time I open. Reset the preferences files, but no help.

Any suggestions?
