I'm in the process of finally setting up my profile , information and the link to my gallery. When I use the link at the top right " How to use the forums " it won't let me go to the second page to learn how to set up a gallery. Is there any other way to learn ? I've searched and can't find anything that helps.

Tony, I've just checked the video and worked for me. Did you try that little "play" button in the center of the graphics? Or the blue band to the left? The only thing I noticed is that I had to click more than once before it got activated.

But, anyway, let's see if I can help you:

- Go to Gallery at the top of the forum page.
- On the Gallery page click Upload.
- Then you see information on the space allowed to each member (10MB).
- Scroll down to Browse; locate the image in your pc and click Upload. To learn which file types and sizes are allowed, see "View Allowed Extensions."
- Enter a title. Description and keywords are optional.
- Select the category your images fits in.
- Select to "Receive e-mail updates." You'll be informed when a member comments on your image so you can reply to the message.

After you have created your gallery, you can click on "My Stuff" to see your images. When you open an image of yours, there is a tab on the right corner "Image tools." One of the options under this tab is to edit your image. Here you can delete your image, replace it, and do some editing -- description, key words, category.

Does this make sense to you? I'm still in my first cup of coffee this morning.:)

Sepiana , I tried it again same luck, I watched Part 1 and when it ends you supposed to click Part 2 but it won't load. I'll follow your instructions and let you know how I come out....Thanks for your reply.

Sepiana, I understand your instructions, but its doing the same thing when I click ' submit' in the gallery. Pete sent me a link and it does the same thing also. I've clicked in everything on the tool bar and they all open right up. I tried back at the ' How to use the forums ' and its still doing the same thing, I can watch Part 1 but it says it can't find the web page for Part 2.

Tony, I don't know what to say.

How big was the image you were trying to upload to the Village gallery? I've just done a test -- I uploaded an image whose size was over the limit and I couldn't submit it.

By answering you, I bumped your thread to the top. Hope someone with more experience will see it.

Tony,

A long shot.....are you using IE as your browser? Cos I'm frequently having a similar problem with not being able to open up web pages on IE, but have found that when I switch to Firefox I can view things perfectly!

Bayla, my browser is AOL. I got to work today and atleast I could view the 'How to use the forums 'including the how to set up a gallery. Sepiana , When I get to that part of uploading, do I 'save to web' and upload/cut/paste with Pixentral to set up a gallery ? When I watched Part 2 this morning all they did was click 'browse'and find the image they wanted, but does this mean they were already re-sized there ? Thanks everyone for your help.

Tony,

That's what I do:

1. I save a copy of my image (Save for Web) in a specified folder. This copy is sized to obey the file limits in the Village gallery - 700px max on the longest side.

2. Then in the Upload page, I click Browse to locate the image in my pc and then I uploaded it.

3. Next I fill out the pertinent info.

It works all the time. The only time I have problems is if I try to upload an image that goes over the file limit.

When I first created my Gallery, I didn't know any better and I was uploading JPEG images, without the Saving-for-Web. Pretty soon I began running of space. Now I know better!:o:D

EDIT: I use IE7 as my default browser and have no problems. A long time ago I used AOL as the default browser and didn't like it at all. I thought it was too finicky.
