Can the straighten tool be used vertically?

I have a bunch of pictures that have no horizon but have a vertical reference. I have to rotate 90 left, apply the straighten tool, then rotate back.

Is there an easier way to apply the tool?

I don't know if there is an easier way, but you sure found a creative one that works!

To use the Straighten tool vertically, hold the Ctrl key while you drag. I do it all the time and it works.
