Camera RAW which version

Hi All

I read in my March edition of Digital Photo mag that the current version for Camera RAW for PSE6 is 5.1. I've downloaded it, unzipped it but I get error messages when I open PSE6 after dropping it in 'Plug Ins' or 'File format'. I have to go back to 4.4.1 otherwise RAW shots will not open in PSE6. Can anyone please direct me to a previous thread on this or provide a solution or a brief explanation of what I'm doing wrong? I'm running Vista Home Premium.

Version 5.2 of ACR is available at the Adobe web site (and there is a release candidate of 5.3 as well). But it sounds to me like you have an installation error, and installing 5.2 will have the same problem. Can you share with us the error message? What kind of camera do you use?

This is the path for the Vista Home Premium (64-bit) version. The Adobe PSE6 software would have been installed automatically in the Programs (X86) folder, and the Camera Raw.8bi file goes in the File Format folder in this path.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6.0\Plug-Ins\File Formats

Thanks for your input to this. I appear to have it working OK now. Found two problems:- the detail from the mag were wrong and the other is this idiot the other side of the computer who must learn to follow instructions properly!!
