Not sure if this is the correct forum but, I have tried unsuccessfully to use photomerge panorama and every attempt returns the following error

Error 1: Unable to create Window
- Internal error.
Line: 364
-> var w= new Window(res);

If anyone has an idea on how to solve this problem, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the link but as a software developer these steps are insane.

Why should we have to disable 90% of our operating system to get photomerge to work?

Does Adobe even try to test their software?

This feature has not worked with Vista since PSE5. TIME TO FIX YOUR STUFF ADOBE AND STOP USING US AS YOUR TEST TEAM!!!!!

I'm having the same problem and agree with Gripshod's argument. So has anyone managed to resolve the problem without going through all those steps?

Reinstalling is the only solution that's been reported to solve the problem. If you go to the effort of reinstalling, it's worthwhile to disable anti-malware and other background services that sometimes interfere with the installation. Norton 360 has a particularly bad reputation of interfering with PSE installations, but there's a general belief that other anti-malware and background services can interfere as well.

Adobe calls this installing in "simplified mode". Note that you're not permanently disabling these services, just temporarily turning them off during the installation. For some kinds of problems, in which there might be interference between a background service and ongoing operation of PSE, it also helps to temporarily run PSE in simplified mode, as a way of diagnosing the problem. But I'm not aware of anyone who ended up needing to run PSE permanently with all those services disabled (with the exception of versions of Norton 360 1.5 years ago).

I too had problems with photomerge in PSE7. My original images were about 6Mb each and I had 4 to merge. I resaved the images at about 1.5Mb each and had no problems with the merge.

Karen: it happens even if I have no pictures in the project bin.

I have had no other problems. There was someone having trouble using photomerge and I spent all of one day creating different panos and apart from the too large an image, things went smoothly every time - hoped I haven't jinxed myself :eek:

The PSE7 Panorama Error problem that has plagued me and that I've posted about here is now resolved. And this may help others who are still having it.

I run a program I found a long time ago called CCleaner. I assumed that, whenever I ran it, it cleaned everything bad, including the Registry. My good wife said no, it doesn't, and showed me how to clean the registry. There was a ton of junk in there and out it went. Tried the Panorama and eureka!, it worked.

CCleaner is a free program.
