Way to go everyone! The zillions of images I've looked at over the last month have displayed much creativity and talent and it has been my pleasure to be involved with this stellar group. My thanks to everyone for their enthusiasm and especially for all the kind comments. Here's to 11 more months of photographic fun! :)

I should add that it is never too late to join in the fun. If the idea of posting 365 images in the remaining 11 months scares you, you can prorate your goal to 334. Take a look at THIS THREAD (http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43313) if interested and come introduce yourself in THIS THREAD (http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42324).

Julie,
If it weren't for you & Clara there would be no challenge, so a huge THANK YOU to both of you, especially you Julie, for all of your patience and knowledge. I've learned so much from everyone & enjoyed everyone's photos, the talent here is unbelievable!
Great work everyone.....also, everyone in this challenge is so kind & helpful, I don't think I've ever met a group of people so generous, so thanks to all of you too!

One down, eleven to go, and then we start all over again. :)
It would be nice to see what each person thinks is their best image this past month.

Oooh...Grant. I like that idea! Gives us a moment to reflect AND to see some work we might have otherwise missed.
I'll bite...I liked my tree by the frozen river, posted on January 29, and titled "Thank Goodness it's only seasonal"

I'm torn between #3-Handwriting (http://shadowsandhighlights.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/3-140_handwriting1.jpg) & #27-Flame (http://shadowsandhighlights.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/100_flame11.jpg). It's like having to choose which child is your favorite! I think Handwriting wins by a nose~
What's yours Grant?

Congrats to everyone on surviving to date especially Iona and even Tammy. With regard to Grants idea my favourite for the first month goes to Eddies "hands" - a great photo to my eye and a story that shut old blabbermouth up (Me).
But hey they are all great because we did'm
Stop the tears everyone, but come tuesday (monday your time) I'm off a jaunting so no posts but if there is an opportunity I will try to comment.
Have a happy February.

It's been an absolutely wonderful first month for me! I have had so much fun and learned so much from everyone. The creativity, skill and imagination in this group is awesome. The sheer variety of interpretations for each theme is terrific.
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to review my photos and for the encouragement.
I'm delighted we've finished a month - and a bit daunted by the remaining days, but now I know that there are thousands of pictures out there just waiting to be captured.
I had a hard time picking a favorite for the month, but these three stand out for me:
88 Eyes (http://alibony365.wordpress.com/2009/01/14/88-eyes-2/)
107 Footwear (http://alibony365.wordpress.com/2009/01/06/107-footwear/)
256 Reflections (http://alibony365.wordpress.com/2009/01/13/256-reflections/)
Looking forward to the rest of the year!
Karen :)

wow, it is hard picking a favorite of your own work when there are so many gorgeous images out there. If I had to pick one I think I would pick my
feline friends (http://tmcchesney.wordpress.com/2009/01/03/4-feline-friends/).
Ron, have a great vacation, and I will have to admit I WILL miss you and your "quirky" sense of humor (hey isn't quirky a theme? )

Hey, that's quite ironic, Grant! About a week ago, I decided that I would do a Favorite Three of the Month post on the blog on the last day of every month.
Earlier today, I wrote the post and scheduled it to post later this evening!
Nice call!

I like both Grant's and Mike's ideas. I just couldn't decide which of mine I liked the best. It probably isn't my best, but I liked the subjects in my Celestial Bodies (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9KNkx7RBo1A/SW4QHVe-EjI/AAAAAAAAAw4/zY4jvpSJXUE/s1600-h/43+Celestial+Bodies.jpg) one. Maybe I will have some better ones next month! I'm learning!

My favourite is usually the next image I am going to do. If I had to pick and I guess I do I like this one (http://web.me.com/fromaway/POD/POD/Entries/2009/1/15_Pin_Hole_Macro.html)because it reminded me of how much fun photography can be.

Thanks Julie and Clara. Without both of you I would be bored and sitting around with nothing to do!! Julie, it goes without saying that you have gone over and above on all levels.
Thanks Val for starting this thread and Grant for the great idea!!
This is my #1 favorite because I have never laughed so hard trying to capture a subject and I have never had to take so many shots to get the image I wanted!!
Portrait (http://mljrbg.blogspot.com/search/label/Portrait)
This is my #1 favorite technically.

I think my favorite for January is my funny-looking cardinal.

This is hard! I think the one that was technically unusual was this one (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_oPENib_2d0Q/SXXkDc47qXI/AAAAAAAAAQs/vbt3i87jhdA/s1600-h/153+How+about+that+weather.jpg) ...I heard it was hard to take photos of fog, so I thought I would just try it. Then, because I shot in raw, I was able to do a minus adjustment in vibrance, clarity, etc., that made it more eerie.
