Text on Transp for Web

I'm having some trouble with a gif saved for a Web Banner. The gif contains ONLY text, created on transparent background, and saved for web to be used at the top of a page. When it is posted against a highly contrasting brightly colored background, the text is picking up white pixels around and in-between many of the letters. Any clue from the description what I'm doing wrong? The text is black. I'm afraid to try to post the gif here, because being on white you would not be able to see these errant pixels that are forming.

Hi there ...

Try this ...

Duplicate your image
Create new layer above the text layer
Make a selection from the text layer
Fill the slection with black
Delete the text layer
and then use save for web and save as a gif

... and see if that works :)
