I have purchased a Wacom Intous3 Tablet (6x8). The behavior of the pen seems erratic, in particular when using the polygonal lasso. I can't seem to get the knack of "closing the ends" with a double tap. Sometimes the selection just vanishes and other times I can't seem to get the pen away from the tablet without making endless lines. The pen is also "jumpy" when I try to use it to select items on cascading menus (example getting from "layers" to "new"). I am also really puzzled with the function of the switch on the pen. Can anyone lead me to a decent source of basic information about the use of the Tablet. The tutorial on the installation disc is next to useless! I would be grateful for any info at all!

I received the Wacom Intuos3 6x8 for Christmas but haven't had any problems using it so far. It's really handy to configure the buttons on the tablet to do frequent tasks used in Elements, such as increasing and decreasing brush size.
You can download Wacom manuals here:
http://www.wacom.com/productsupport/manuals.php
Perhaps the information in this document will help.

Here's some more information about configuring the tablet:

Hope this helps.

Along with the resources listed above, try installing the latest driver. That tends to solve a lot of problems.

I believe that it would be; at least that's the idea that I get when trying to download a driver from Wacom's site. Good luck...

I just wanted you tp know that I called Wacom Tech support. What a wonderful and unusual experience! Only 1 automated response saying I had reached Wacom, and to "press 4" for Tech support. Press 4 and immediately I got a "HUMAN"!! The guy asked what my problem was, and I told him the problem I was with using the Wacom with PSE5. He knew all about PSE5 and made some suggestions (such as using a different pen and leting the original "rest" a few days). The answer on the driver, by the way, was that I did not need it (but the one download would apply to all three tablets, had I needed it). The numbers for tech support there are 800-822-6613, and 360-896-9833:) Thanks for your concern and replies
