Has anyone had experience yet with the iron-on transfers? You can print out your photo on the 8 1/2 x 11" sheets, then iron them onto your tshirts, tote bags, or whatever. I've thought about trying them for some of my favorite photos, but I'm a little nervous about using something new. Anyone with advice on these?

I've used them on t-shirts for my grandson. Because of my design colors and the t-shirt colors, I bought the ones specifically for use on dark fabrics. Worked like a charm and he loved having his own custom made team logo shirts.
Also, when I closed our childcare center last year, the families worked together to collect photos of the children who had been with us through the years. They used the photo transfers to put photos and old artwork of the kids on quilt blocks and one woman pulled everything into a quilt as a goodbye gift.

I've used them quite often. Never had any problems with the transfers. Just follow the directions for applying and washing.

I did a bunch a few years back. Some worked with no problem and some were nothing but problems. I finally realized that the ones that worked well were the ones that I had printed out a day or more before trying to iron them. The ones with problems were the ones I practically ripped from the printer and immediately tried to iron on.
So, I would suggest you plan ahead and do your printing ahead of time.

May a man ask a dumb question. How do they stand up in the wash ?

Tom,
From my experience they do fade with time. My girls are still wearing T-shirts that are over three years old, and have been abused in the wash by me (washing at 90 degrees centigrade!) and you can still see the pictures although they are not as bright as they once were.
I also seem to remember that it is best to wash the T-shirts before ironing on the transfers if they are new.

Thanks Bayla, I think that I have to do some just for the fun of it. Tom:)
