Hi Jane ...
... and welcome to the form :)
What is your set up Windows/Mac and what Operating System are you using ....
How long is it actually taking to burn the slideshow?

Hello Jane,
It was my experience that it takes FOREVER, because it writes all the files as .WMV files that take a long time to convert and then it prepares to write the video CD and then finally writes the CD. I'm sure the actual speed will vary depending on the amount of RAM you have and the speed of your processor;).
I started a thread about the slide show with PSE 3 last spring, I'm sorry I don't have the reference for it. I also was disappointed with the limited quality output; the max turned out to be not very good on a full screen TV:(. It is such a convenient program to use after creating a collection that I was very disappointed. I ended up purchasing Proshow Gold to do the slide shows and have been very happy with it. On that spring thread, that is what was recommended for the output I had in mind. Let me know if you would like more details about that.
Good luck and welcome to the forum,
Virginia

I was very disappointed with slides shows in PSE 3 and purchased ProShow Gold also. It has been very fast and burns to DVD which made a huge difference in the quality of the slide show on TVs and data projectors.

I did exactly the same as you Mary, and for the same reason.
