Hi there, I'm not sure I'm posting this is the right place or not. I'm trying to understand the difference between making a pdf in Adobe Photoshop versus using the Illustrator. If I made a layered file in photoshop and then told it save as a pdf, would it not be the same as the save in Illustrator?

Also I'm looking for some tutorials on using the Illustrator as I never have used before.

Thanks, Marcie

Adobe Illustrator is part of the Photoshop family, not Photoshop Elements family. A good resource for forums would be the Adobe Illustrator Forum at Adobe where you could view questions/answers and post your own questions.

There was once an Adobe Illustrator Techniques Newsletter that sounds like just what you are looking for:

With the change in management at Photoshop Elements Techniques Newsletter, I am not sure who owns what and if the Adobe Illustrator Techniques Newsletter still exists. Dave Cross was the editor, and Dave Cross remained with the Scott Kelby group that sold Photoshop Elements Techniques Newsletter. Maybe someone from the current management of Photoshop Elements Techniques Newsletter will know the fate of that Illustrator resource.

There are all sorts of links with basic Adobe Illustrator tutorials, examples
http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/illustratortutorials/Essential_Tutorials_for_Adobe_Illustrator.htm
http://www.kelbytraining.com/product/illustrator-cs2-killer-tips.html

Kelby Training and the http://www.photoshopuser.com site might be a good place to start. Although the people who frequent the Elements Village site are multi-talented, the focus is usually on Photoshop Elements with a variety of Learn More subjects which does not seem to include Adobe Illustrator.

If I am wrong, someone will be along to contribute to the discussion and indicate where I am not up to date on these matters.

Thanks Atr. I will look into these. I've just got a basic question and I knew if I posted here someone would point me in the right direction. :)
