How do you go from 12x12 to 8x8

Hi, this resolution stuff confuses me.
If I make a lay-out in 12x12 and then want to print as an 8x8 - how do I do this.
My MATH(:eek: oh boy) says I can print at 66.5 %.
In this case I do not want to save as 8x8 -- just print at 8x8.

Now if I want to save as an 8x8 I need to resize the image?
Do I turn resample on?
It will downsample and leave the resolution at 300ppi?
Then save with a new name.

Do I save it first with a new name and then resample and resize?

It is probably very simple - I just can't get it straight in my head.

Can someone please draw me a picture?

Hi ...

If you have made the page already at 12 x 12 300 resolution ... and want to print it at 8 x 8

Then just do Image>Resize>Image Size ... change the 12 inches to 8 inches and then print it out :)

(If you want to change the resolution to 300 as well then check resample image and change the resolution to 300.)

Once you have printed you can just close the image without saving it :)

The beauty of printing an 8x8 from a 12x12 is simple...do nothing!:)
Just upload & print, it will look the same.
However, you can't design in 8x8 300dpi & then print 12x12, that will give you low resolution.
