Hi
I have decided to get a tablet to use with Elements and would like to know if any of you have any info pro or cons on the Bamboo Fun.. Is it a good tablet or would it be better to go with the Intuos 3. Any input will be appreciated.

I have Bamboo fun and love it for the most part. The one thing that I don't like is that it will freeze up at times. When it does if I unplug it and plug it in again it will only work as a regular mouse. The only way to reset it is to restart the whole computer--which can be a real pain if you are in the middle of a project. I've been wondering if that might be a Vista problem but haven't looked into it yet (I keep saying I'm going to and then it seems to work fine for quite some time so I forget about it)

I don't know anything about the other ones you've mentioned so I too look forward to reading everyone else's thoughts

Hi DMorris,

I have the Intous 3 tablet and like it a lot. Now, I am not a graphics artist, so I cannot get into the artistic merits of the device. I use it for image selection when I am trying to isolate some element of a picture.

One trick that I have found useful is to tape a paper drawing or photo directly on the tablet. Then I can do a tracing of same.

While I do not do too much "brush work" it comes in handy when I do. It is a lot easier to handle a pen than a mouse.

Cheers,

Bob

Mine loses it's abilty to 'pen flick' then I just unplug and replug and it seems OK. As you say annoying. Also I don't find the zoom/scroll wheel very easy - I have to apply quite a bit of pressure :( Apart from that though I do like it:) I have Vista too. One more thing - I also have an external hardrive. I used to be able to the computer 'sleep' but since installing the Bamboo when it 'wakes up' the external hardrive isn't recognised so I have to restart the computer:(

Hi,
I bought the Bamboo fun for the PSE6 software for Mac and pc's. I just started using it with my mac and love it. I pretty much got the Bamboo for free ($10.00) more than I was going to pay for PSE6 for my new Mac. I've only been using the pen and tut. I also use it to move around surfing the web to get use to the pen. No problems yet.

I bought mine at Best Buy for $99.00. Some of the boxes had PSE4 and some of the newer boxes(2008) had PSE6 for mac and pc's.

Love the pen. Can't say much more till I learn more about PSE.

Just wanted you to know about the software!:)

The intuos has more levels of pressure sensitivity, and the ability to recognize the tilt of the pen. That's not a big thing for photo editing, but it is if using corel painter.
