Oh boy, a new learning curve...I hate it. I just installed my new PSE 7 software and it looks like a I have a ton of stuff to learn...I'm such a glutton for punishment!
I have OnOneEssentials and Neat Image (recently purchased). Can I transfer them into PSE7 or is it a lost cause, in other words, do I have to buy them again? In the meantime, I've got B. Brundage's Missing Manual for PSE7 and a lot of hoemwork to do:(

Hudakore, licensed versions of your plug-ins are best uninstalled and then reinstalled in the appropriate PSE plug-in folder if you havealready uninstalled the older version of PSE. You didn't mention what previous version of PSE you have and whether it is still installed on the same computer as your new PSE7. If an older version is still installed, and the plug-ins are also still installed, try a new installation of the two plug-ins without uninstalling first.

I had PSE 5 and it and all the plug-ins and brushes are still there. Can I just copy/move them to the appropriate locations in PSE 7?

hudakore,

I have PSE4 and PSE7 in the same pc. I copied all the plug-ins (purchased and free) from one to the other without problems.

In the case of onOne Essentials I used the cd to install it in PSE7. I ran into problems -- the installer wouldn't launch. I had to do it manually following some instructions on their website.

I have a similar problem. I uninstalled PSE 6 and Essentials 2 and Photo Frame 3.1. I had PSE 7 installed. Essentials 2, finally installed using the directions on the website for manual install but Photo Frame 4 did not show up under the Filters in PSE 7. Any suggestions?

I had really good luck moving (copying) Neat Image to 7 but when I tried to do the same with onOne, I keep getting the message in PSE "Could not load hee Registration Library. Reinstall Intellihance" Whatever that means. I have the disc but L'm having problems installing it.

hudakore,

If you're having problems with installing onOne Essentials using the cd, there is a way to manually copy the installer off the CD and then run it off the hard drive. It worked for me. Check this (http://www.ononesoftware.com/support/kb/?View=entry&EntryID=179).

Thanks for all your help. I tried to follow the PDF file but the CDC in the drive won't open. Then I noticed the instructions are for onOneEssentials 2. I hhaae only v. 1. I've written them for more info but haven'y heard back yet.

Hudakore, have you moved all of the onOne files back to their original folders? If so then try uninstalling the software from the Control Panel. If not, I would suggest you do so and try to unistall using Windows.

When you put the CD in the drive, and nothing happens, open a File Explorer window and navigate to the drive (e.g., D:), and look in the root folder for something named Autorun, Set-up, or Install, etc. Double click on one of those and see if you can get the installer to launch.

OnOne products are notrious for installing parts of themselves in different folders, and since the know where each part is, everying is fine until you move one part, and it goes looking for the next one, and can't find it. That's why uninstalling and reinstalling, pointing the software to your new version of PSE, is the best practice.

I never move programs, plug-ins, etc. manually unless I installed them manually.

Thank you everyone for all your help. Turns out the probem was with my CD drive: it was locked up and kept throwing the installation disc out. My genius husband fixed the problem and I'm up and running again. :)

I have found out what my problem was not being able to find Photo Frame 4 in the Filters menu. It can be found in Automation under File. Now it is working fine.

I was wondering how to install onOne in PSE7 from PSE5. I am going to uninstall it and then install in in PSE7.

This forum never ceases to amaze me on the expertise one can find.

Thanks:D

I just encountered the same problem. I simply reinstalled OnOneEssentials after installing PSE7 and directed it to install in PSE7. It's running perfectly now.
