Picture will not open in Edit window

I have upgraded from PSE 3 to PSE 7 (Win XP) and when I try and edit a photo it does not appear in the edit window. Even if you try and open it directly from that window or right clicking from the photo in the catalog it opens the edit window and nothing is there. Has anyone ween this? Do I need to uninstall PSE 3?

Hi Techsan and welcome to Elements Village. Try this: Click on the photo in Organizer to select it, then press Ctrl-I.

Still will not open a photo inthe editor even by pressing Cntrl-I.

Having two versions installed shouldn't cause a problem. I've always had at least two versions installed and it never affects opening files in Editor in either versions.

This sometimes corrects some weird glitches with Elements. Restart Elements and as soon as you see the the blue title screen start to load, hold down Ctrl+Shift+Alt simultaneously while the program completes loading. If you get a message asking if you wish to reset preferences (or something to that effect) click Yes.

If this doesn't help, I would try uninstalling, then reinstalling.

Techsan, when you start in Full Editor mode, and do a File Open, what do you get? Have you tried File New to create a blank file? Is there anything in the Photo Bin at the bottom?

After trying to open a file, while in full Editor, go to Window>Images> then to Maximize Mode. Anything Happen?

Thanks for all the responses! Unistalling and reinstalling seems to have fixed the issue.
