Hi everyone,

Is anyone having this problem? I am.

When I apply Topaz DeNoise to a small image file, let's say, 800x600, it crashes PSE every time. It works faultlessly only on large images (above 1000x1000). According to a post I read in another site, this is also occurring in Photoshop CS4.

I haven't run into that problem and I did just try it on an 800x600 pixel image in PSE7 and it worked fine. Do you have the most recent version? Mine is v2.2 . Could be you have an earlier version and the problem has been fixed.

BTW - the most recent versions of the Topaz family are:

Denoise 2.2
Adjust 2.6
Simplify 1.0

I like them all :)

I take it back - just went down from 800 to 600 pixels and it did indeed then crash. I guess we should report it to Topaz - they are usually pretty responsive. I hadn't run into it as I usually denoise original images not downsized ones.

It worked fine on a 700x463 image but crashed when downsized to 600x406

I download this today and didn't have any problems with it. I just tried it on a small (600x400) image and it crashed PSE5. I'm glad I worked on large pics earlier!

Hi Tony,

I have the same versions of the Topaz family you do. I've reported the problem to Topaz, but haven't heard anything yet.

EDIT: I was using PSE7. I decided to use DeNoise on a small image in PSE4 and it crashed as well.

Just reported it. I thought it might be CS4 related (PSE7 is CS4 based) but I see you had the same issue with PSE4 and PSE5 does it too. That does sound like a bug.

I see they think they've found the problem and posted a fix - just downloaded it but haven't had a chance to install and check it out yet.

Hi Tony,

DeNoise is now working properly in both PSE4 and 7. I reported back to Topaz that the problem is solved.

That's great - I'll get the new version installed. That's pretty good service from Topaz - wouldn't it be nice if Adobe was as quick with their fixes :D
