Just spent my Christmas money on a backpack style camera bag. Ideal for me because of bad shoulders. You don't need to take it off to get at your camera - it just swivels round to the front -really neat :)

Sue,
What kind did you get? Not happy with mine so I'm looking around to see what options are out there and I have a cranky back.

They are good. I have this one that goes with me everywhere my camera goes:

The pull out All Weather cover is particularly handy when I'm travelling around England :). Has saved my equipment getting soaked a few times.

Hi Debra I have posted attachments from the label for you to see the various openings etc. They also do bigger and smaller ones. I don't have a lot of equipment and never will so this is ideal for me. I got it at sale priceof £39.99 (originally £45.00):) HTH

I have the larger model (300AW) and I find it's a bit too large and unwieldy. Should have gone with the 200AW as you and Tony have done....:(

For US shoppers, there's a $20 rebate on the 200AW available for purchases made through 1/31/09. Price from amazon.com is $89.95 (free shipping) before taking into account the rebate.

The LowePro was one I was seriously considering. I've ordered, thanks for the tip about the rebate.

have had a Lowepro 200 now for about a year and love it,,

Costco even has had them for a very good price,,

I also placed a wrap of real sheepskin around the sling to help soften the load when I have a heavy lens along,,

We should trade... I have the 200AW, and wish I had a bit more leg room in it.

I'm actually thinking of ordering a 300AW from Costco.com just to see if I'd prefer it. Since I got my 200 from Costco as well, I could take advantage of their generous return policy if I decided to keep the 300 -- or give 'em back the 300 if it really is too big.

I've been researching and researching trying to figure out the best way to carry my camera. I've owned a camera for over 30+ years and have tried everything under the sun. When new products come out it messes me up because my mind thinks its needs to have everything it 'sees' and Mr. Wallet always argues with him. In the last 5 years I've been trying to get off the beaten path and hike to more locations. Landscape is my thing by the way. Having already owning a nice daypack I tried to 'swing' it around like the new models do and it does the exact same thing and the side zipper is right there to open for access. So, for now , I bought a individual case for my camera including my 11-22 mm wide angle and a few just for my other lenses and just keep them in my backpack. They are all 'loose' but all are protected with their own cases. Is this the last 'set-up' I'll ever buy ? I highly doubt it, but for now I'm happy, easily accessible and comfortable.

Thanks everyone! I had been looking for a camera bag and this thread helped me immensely. I've just ordered the AW200 from amazon.com. Thanks to Chuck's post, I even saved money. If I had purchased it at our local camera store or one of the electronics chains, I'd have paid quite a bit more.

I have a Lowepro shoulder bag, I really like the brand and how durable they are. I recently also got a Nikon bag (backpack) from a friend. Which I like because of it's size and that I can toss everything (laptop included) into one bag.

Both are great bags. I don't think you can go wrong with either brand, as well. A friend has the AW200. I'm sure you're going to enjoy it.
