Hello all,

I apologize if this is in the incorrect forum and kindly ask the moderators to consider moving it to the correct forum, if that's the case. :)

I currently have PSE 6 and, like another user in these forums, have decided that a resolution will be to organize my photos! :)

I remember starting out with PSE 4 and LOVING the organizer! What a concept for a neatfreak like me.

Is there much a difference between PSE 6 and PSE 7? Should I invest the money, or should I just stick with ver. 6?

Are the changes in the upgrade worth the extra $45 to $100 dollars I may spend on ver. 7? :)

Thanks for any input!
Ted

I have to chuckle at your question. I had version 5 and when 6 came out I wondered too if I should upgrade. I was questioning if there were enough differences and new features to justify what I thought was not only a high upgrade price, but even worse was there wasn't much of a delta between the upgrade price and the full version price. I felt like Adobe should be rewarding the current users better than they were.
So, I took my concerns to Adobe...wow, talk about lack of interest. Sure, they responded to my emails, but their response sounded like it was crafted by a polite bureacracy. So I crafted my own strategy since I didn't agree with Adobe's mimicking another monopolistic software company known for it's multiple releases that I akin to incremental disclosure.
My strategy? Well, I felt that version 5 was meeting my needs and I would just wait for version 7--and as it turned out, I didn't have to wait long. So I bought the full version, which again wasn't much differnet than the upgrade price. Now I have 7 and a version of 5 to pass along to a friend.
If I were you, I'd sit on 6 and wait for 8.

Hi Jon,

Your response makes perfect sense to me... and yes, I agree. It makes more sense to wait until Version 8.

Being a teacher, I am able to get Version 7 for $65, but if it's not that worth it, I will just still to version 6.

Thanks for your reasoning - I appreciate your response! :)
