Adding comments to image file

Is there a way to add comments to an image file (i.e. location) without using the text tool and placing the info on the face of the image itself? It should be possible somehow. Thank you. Carl.

You can use the File Info panels and put it in the IPTC data (for example in the captions field). That gets saved in the image file. That's the place to put all the info about the image.

Or you could type the text on the image and then just switch eyeball of the text layer off (only works if you are saving your image with layers rather than a jpg) Some people do that with scrapbook pages.
