I am in the market for a new computer system. I have limited funds for this so need the best I can get for my money. I have always used a pc and have liked HP but I am open to any suggestions. I would like to stay under $700. Any words of wisdom out there?

I have an HP Pavillion with a dual proccessor, three gigs of RAM and 500 gigs of storage. It is less then a year old and Photoshop Elements 6 crashes frequently. I have gone back and forth between HP and Adobe with no solution to the problem. If you go with HP get a written guarantee from the seller that he will take it back if it doesn't accomidate your programs

interesting on the HP comments,, I purchased a floor model from Costco and saved $250 VS the new boxed units,, is a Pavilion Elite 9177c with Vista home premium and so far it is running great (six months),, quad core with 3G and dual 320g hard drives,, has a 24" HD monitor which is far better than the 19" imac I retired,,
might want to check out a Costco if local,, they give you a 90 day no questions for return and a two year warranty,,

Hi Tina,
I have been using HP gear ever since I retired and was no longer an Acer/Altos dealer. That is getting to be ten years of HP desktops and laptops. Their service and support is first rate. I would buy my system from a store with a no quibble return policy or mail order from HP. You will get a better price from a store. Stay away from Internet purchases from someone you never heard of. I have had good luck with newegg.com, but no one else. You should be able to get great deals right now from Walmart, Brandsmart USA, etc.
Cheers,
Bob
