I had completed a element project. I had saved it to the hard drive. When I tried to show the project by using the F8 button to project it to a distant screen, the program would be intermittened. It would play a little and stop, play a little and stop. I have a nice new computer with lots of ram and this should not be an issue...
Thoughts?

I have a lot more questions, but for now:
You say you have completed a Premiere Elements 4 project and saved it to the hard drive. What is this saved project that you are trying to project to a screen, the project .prel file, or an export? If an export, what format is the export?

It was the prel. file. I have an Inspirion from Dell.

I have no experience with using a projector to display computer content, Premiere Elements or otherwise.
I did find this link that may prove interesting:

You may be beyond its content.
Keeping all that in mind, here are some questions:
1. Is this just happening with trying to project the Premiere Elements 4 project (.prel file) or is this also happening when you try to project from computer with the content from other programs? Maybe a video?
2. Have you explored varying the distance between the computer and the screen?
3. Have you checked for driver updates?
4. Are you experiencing any computer freezes when you open the Premiere Elements 4 project prel file (in the absence of the connection to the projector)?

I have not checked for driver updates. I will do this....
I have not tried another video to see if this affects all things or is just element premier problem. I will try this as well.
No I do not experience difficulty when I just run premier on the computer. It is only when I try to project it.

Thanks for the feedback.
Although I do not have any experience in this area, let us see if we can figure this out together.
I will be watching for your progress. Those suggested tests should help define the situation.
