I have PSE7 up and running with the only difficulty being, the lose of the file structor in organizer, but I appear to be negotiating that okay. Can anyone who has been down this road please advise me if there is a reason for retaining PSE5 on the computer (Taking up Hard Drive Space) or is it okay to uninstall PSE5.

I also plan to install Premier Elements 7 and uninstall Premier Elements 3 after uninstalling PSE5 as I believe that I will be able to produce better DVD slideshow with Premier 7 than Premier 3 ever produced.

I intend deferring any action for three days to to allow time for a response to my query and would appreciate any advice others may provide.

Thanks Ron

Hi Ron ...

Each of the versions is a standalone program so your can remove PSE5 if you wish to :)

Thanks Wendy, you have told me this before, I was just being super cautious in case there were people out there, who have undergone, difficulty after upgrading, where they though it would have been a good idea to have to old one around. So to cap up, I do listen to you (always) but I tighten my belt and adjust my braces before going outside. Thanks

Ron, depends on how much storage space you have. I've noticed other contributors have kept old versions because of certain functions left out of the newer version.
Unless version 5 has some special functions that 7 doesn't I would leave 5 on until your happy that 7 is running correctly.
That is unless you have plenty of space and can leave it on for emergencies.

I just received PSE7 and will be installing it and uninstalling PSE6. However, I 'm keeping my PSE5 installed because I have some addon effects, such as Jodi's styles, frames & backgrounds, which won't work with the newer versions and I still use them occasionally. I've never used Organizer so that's one less headache I have to worry about in upgrading.

Frank Space is the key issue, As I have said before a mac mini using bootcamp and the main hard drive split even between windows and leopard, doesn't leave much, I know it has to go but I am trying to decide when.

Diana, I had installed Grants tools but never figured out how to use it, but don't know enough about PSE to have your expertize (Yet) I am using some of the frames I had in PSE5 in 7 and how do you use backgrounds I just used old photo workings as backgrounds, and anyone that knows me will tell you I have no style, plus Wendy has just put me through a Brushes learning program that I got a lot out of but failed miserably.

I am fairly certain that I don't employ the intricacies of this program, to a fraction of thier potential, so would most likely benefit more from the space, than from the nicities.
