max performance

I would like to purchase a new computer (either MAC or VISTA). To get maximum performance from PSE 7 and Premier Elements 7 what is my best choice of hardware configuration? Cost is not an issue. I currently use Windows XP. I commonly create slide shows of 500 pictures and 45 minutes long.

I suspect either platform would have good performance. Do be aware if choose mac PSE7 would have to run on windows side. PSE6 is newest for the mac to run natively. Macs include a slide show program and idvd which is my favorite so have not used Premier at all. I do prefer macs for ease of use, but I believe that can depend on your individual thought patterns. Suggest you find a mac PSE user near you who will let you play to see if switching platforms is for you.
